The Practice of Visual Inquiries
Most of us don't need more information, more content, or more things to think about. Instead we need more S P A C E to discern + focus on what matters most. Here’s one one of my favorite tools to do just that: Visual Inquiries.
The Power of a Powerful Question...
A good inquiry, by its very nature, makes you stop and think. It often opens a kind of "doorway" inside you where there was some wisdom waiting all along.
That's because an inquiry is a special kind of question: it's not a pop quiz to try to remember something you already know. It is a cue for your mind and heart about what to pay attention to. It is an invitation to explore a new perspectiveor surface insights from a deeper level within yourself so you can interact with them in a more intentional way.
The Power of a Visual Question...
Writing down an inquiry on a piece of paper makes the process concrete, tactile, and more engaging than just thinking about it inside your head.
And if you start the day this way, it puts the inquiry "on to simmer" while doing other things, often resulting in unexpected insights later popping out without any conscious effort.
So I invite you to create 5 minutes for yourself to refelct on these inquiries:
💭 What incremental progress have you already made this year?
💭 What’s the best use of your time & energy in the next few months?
Put them "on to simmer"--and see what comes up for you! I’d love to hear what comes up for you —in the comments below. (I reply personally to every one 😘)
