Drawing Out ✍️ the Wisdom of the Room: Using Visual Inquiry 👁️ to Engage Participants

Building on the practice of visual inquiry for your goals, here we expand the tool to show how powerful visual inquiries can meaningfully engage attendees at events.

Visual Magic Beyond Keynotes

Often at conferences we are hired to graphic record the conversations coming from the stage: the speakers, the panels and the presentations. One of our favorite additions to this kind of graphic recording is to also engage the attendees –– to hear what they have to say. It's so satisfying and impactful to give them the experience of being seen, heard and their voice being important enough to ‘go up on the board' as well.

Collaborative, Communal Conversations

We have developed many ways to incorporate these kinds of interactive attendee experiences into events, on ‘canvases’ of all sizes — from a simple foam core board with stickie-notes to 20' long graphic walls with fully illustrated responses— and everywhere in between. We specialize in guiding clients to create the most powerful question -- and frame it in a resonant metaphor for your audience.

While the final easel wall is beautiful and showstopping, it doesn't completely capture the unique interactive experience participants have, so we’ve made a quick little video to give a taste of the process-- before, during and after an event:

Creative, Engaging -- and Strategic!

Interactive Visual Inquires give your attendees an empowering and engaging experience, AND it also gives you crucial insights and feedback about what your people are thinking and feeling. The unique format of visual interactive boards also offer some anonymity, making the feedback more authentic -- and potentially more useful for leaders.
