Graphic Facilitation FAQ
Our Graphic Facilitators (or Visual Facilitators) use a unique blend of traditional facilitation techniques and visual tools to design and run your meeting. Graphic Facilitators are responsible for the agenda, all meeting activities, event timing, and meeting outcomes (including the Graphic Recording completed by a second Creative Catalyst team member).
Our Graphic Recorders support other meeting facilitators - - (yours or ours) - - but they do not design or run your meeting. Their deliverables are the graphic recordings they draw.
Unfortunately, “Graphic Facilitation” and “Graphic Recording” are often used interchangeably, so we prefer the term Visual Facilitation for the former.
All you need to know is whether you need your meeting designed and delivered (Graphic Facilitation) OR visually captured (Graphic Recording).
And we’d be happy to help you with either!
Yes! When one of our Visual Facilitators designs and delivers your meeting, they are always accompanied by a partner from our team of Graphic Recorders.
So you get the best of both worlds: a delightfully effective meeting using visual methods + techniques (with the facilitator’s complete attention on the room), AND beautiful graphic recordings to catalyze the learning and share the experience with stakeholders.
Visual Facilitator = “Regular” Facilitator plus
Our Graphic Facilitators have access to all the same tools as “regular” facilitators. However, we amplify those tools with visual and embodied techniques to guide a group’s collaborative process.
